THE KISS OF VENUS
The closest approach of Venus to Earth is known (or not?) as the “Kiss of Venus”, and who would dare to dispense such a kiss?
But as kisses involve sensual and sensory intimacy, they charge the tribute of surrender, of permission, even if temporary, to enjoy what is received and what is given.
Sensuality and sensoriality are not merely skin experiences, they involve the intellect as well, with an intricate reasoning of symbols and representations, which ends up being more significant than the sensual and sensorial experience.
After all, intellect is the light that shines most in our humanity, and Venus also fulfills this role in the sky, and here on Earth it is also the case in human relationships, sophisticated with meanings and representations, more than with sensory and sensual simplicity.
The light that shines brightest in the sky we will not see now, because the kiss of Venus happens when it aligns with the Sun, disappearing from the sky, but we will be able to verify the lucidity of our intellect, perceiving with naked and raw realism the magnificence of Life, whose beauty is not always within our reach, but we always aspire to it.
