Divine friendship
Pythagoras said, with his usual wisdom, that the only perfect relationship between human beings is friendship, because in this relationship people care for each other's well-being, protect, instruct and add strength to govern themselves, which is why friendship is sacred.
And that is also why when our humanity profanes friendship with gossip, betrayal and defamation, in the unconsciousness that it acts, it causes varied declines for itself by becoming, cynically, disbelieving that there is anything like perfection, fidelity, solidarity, cooperation or honest and necessary government.
Even though we are profane, still, out of pure compassion, Divinity extends a helping hand to us, protecting those who seek protection, instructing those who seek guidance, and promoting self-government in us.
