REFERENCES
We are references for each other, we need each other to form identities and establish relationships.
We choose people, and we are chosen by people, to be references and to mentally dialogue with them, in many cases without them having given us permission to do so, but that doesn't matter, because the people we choose to be our references, positive or negative , we appropriate them so that they serve as a support point for these endless dialogues that take place in the intimacy of the mind.
Even if we try, from the height of our modernity and through the partial interpretation of the dynamics that psychology studies, to convince ourselves that we should only give importance to what we think of ourselves, dispensing with the evaluation that other people make of us, we still cannot free ourselves from this intimate reality of our functioning, we choose people to serve as a reference for us and we are chosen to be references for those who choose us for this.
