 THE MASTERY OF THE MIND

Who thinks the thoughts? Do thoughts think themselves? Or is there an inner being capable of thinking? And if there is an inner being capable of thinking at will, why don't we take on this role, instead of leaving our minds in automatic mode, thinking alone?

Why do we torment ourselves in thoughts instead of thinking straight and directing the power of our minds to higher and nobler goals than the ordinary ones in which we are normally involved?

It would be great if we knew how to think straight, instead of our minds being like a herd of foul-mouthed horses, made up of thoughts that seem to think themselves, despite the fact that there is an inner being in each of us, capable of potentially being the thinking soul, owner and mistress of this hostile terrain that today is the mind of our humanity.

One thing is certain, it is not enough to be born human to automatically one day think straight. Thinking straight must be the result of our will and our application to knowledge and practice.

To stimulate the development of a certain mastery of the inner being that we are over the mind, which must be our instrument, and not a lawless land, it is necessary to set aside a few moments each day to, with eyes closed, look at the mental image of our hands, and move them as we please.

Do this exercise while awake, and at some point in our dreams too, reminding ourselves to do the same, observe our hands and move them, because it is through the intentional use of our imaginary hands that one day we will dominate our mind.

It is inevitable that we will have to face the result of what we have done and expressed in the past, and this does not always mean a punishment, sometimes the results are auspicious too. In any case, it requires care.
